June Greetings, dear Friends❣️
June is the month when temperatures begin to warm, and we welcome the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. It’s a perfect invitation to spend more time outdoors.
For me, there is nothing more soothing than connecting with the natural world. It doesn’t have to be a grand adventure or an elaborate outing. Connecting with nature can be as simple as stepping into your own backyard or visiting a local park. Find what works for you.
For me, it’s often as simple as lying in my hammock beneath the oak tree and fragrant honeysuckle, watching the clouds drift by. I notice the birds soaring overhead, the squirrels moving through the branches, and the way the light and wind dance among the leaves. In these quiet moments, I am reminded that nature is always inviting us to slow down, pay attention, and simply be.
Mindful Nature Walk
This month’s meditation is a walking meditation that invites you to slow down, awaken your senses, and reconnect with the living world around you. Rather than walking to get somewhere, you will walk simply to be present. As you move, you’ll explore sight, sound, touch, smell, and the felt experience of being part of nature rather than separate from it. This practice is grounding, calming, and restorative, helping to quiet mental chatter while cultivating a sense of wonder, connection, and ease. Inspired by mindful walking and sensory awareness practices in nature.
The June meditation practice replaces this week’s Midweek Mindfulness Break.
