Full Moon in Capricorn 🌕 ♑
Sun in Cancer 🌞 ♋
Full Moon Greetings, dear Friends❣️
I hope this Full Moon finds you enlivened and well. As always, thank you for gathering here with me as we move through another turn of the lunar cycle. The Full Moon invites illumination, and this one feels especially potent.
I’ve been carefully curating my very limited free time between the FIFA World Cup and swimming at the local community pool with friends and neighbors. Watching the World Cup has reminded me of the sheer joy, grit, and determination of world-class athletes, matched only by the spirit and enthusiasm of the fans gathered here in North America and across the globe. I love these global sporting events that unite humanity through the shared spirit of competition.
During my morning swim yesterday, I couldn’t help but bask in the perfection of the moment. My body felt weightless and pain-free as I moved gently through the water. Above me stretched a brilliant blue sky dotted with puffy white clouds. Sunlight reflections danced across the surface below while my body was cradled by the cool water, only to be nourished afterward by the warmth of the air and the sun drying my skin.
If I think of my physical being as the container for this human experience, I can honestly say my container feels full. I am holding and carrying a great deal right now. The astrology of this moment speaks of profound transformation, and change is arriving whether I feel fully prepared or not.
The truth is, I am ready.
Ready, but uncertain about how the journey will unfold and who I will become on the other side.
My physical body is a container, constantly brewing change and transformation. The cauldron of life is bubbling this week beneath an intense heat wave. Everything feels steamy, both outside and within. The only way forward, it seems, is to become still and sit in the heat long enough to sweat out whatever is rising to the surface.
Unprocessed grief has manifested as pain in my lower body, quite literally slowing my ability to walk forward into what comes next. So I sit. I sweat. I find relief and movement in the water when I need it. And when I can, I pedal forward on my bicycle, feeling the wind against my skin, taking in the view, and trusting that each turn of the pedals is carrying me exactly where I need to go.
This physical pain has asked me to change and adapt. What waits on the other side of this transformation remains unknown. For now, my work is to stay present, tend the fire, and patiently stir the cauldron.
Today, the Moon is full in Capricorn. Expansive Jupiter moves into radiant Leo, and trickster Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer.
All of that… in one day.
Each of these astrological aspects would be significant on its own, but together they create a powerful invitation for reflection, growth, and transformation. More cosmic intensity is on the horizon throughout July and August. Rather than resisting it, I feel called to carry it consciously, sit with it patiently, work with it intentionally, and gently steer through it so I can arrive on the other side exactly where I am meant to be.
How do I work with the current energy in the skies?
I am asking this Capricorn Full Moon to illuminate what is ready to be seen. I am allowing Mercury retrograde in Cancer to guide me inward so I can lovingly process what is revealed. Standing at this vantage point, I welcome reflection on where I have been and insight into where life is calling me next. My hope is that whatever unfolds over these coming months, I emerge more courageous, more authentic, and more willing to share this journey of being human with an open heart.
As I stand on the threshold of July, I also carry the memory of the saddest and most heartbreaking chapter of my life. Under the Capricorn Full Moon in July 2022, my only daughter went into cardiac arrest and began her four-day journey from life to death before her final and most heroic act of donating her life-giving organs, tissue, and corneas to people in need.
This comes alongside the realities of our world: Trump, political division, war, elections, artificial intelligence, the climate crisis, the rising cost of everyday living, and the countless complexities of modern life. I cannot remember another time that has felt quite so layered or uncertain, and I have very little control over any of it.
It’s a lot. So it comes back to this moment.
How do I carry all that life asks me to hold within the container of this human body, heart, and mind?
Perhaps the answer is one breath at a time. One compassionate choice at a time. One moment of presence at a time. And perhaps it is also a willingness to remain open to it all, trusting that eventually I will need to empty the container to make room for what comes next.
With that, I am planning a little breather—a little space before the next Tides of Being newsletter. I’d like to move quietly through the rest of the summer and reflect on how I publish here and what still feels meaningful for both me and you. I know something is ready to shift. I just don’t yet know exactly what that looks like.
I’ll be pausing the lunar almanac newsletter for the remainder of the summer. I’ll continue sharing meditation practices through July, then go completely quiet in August, allowing myself space to listen, reflect, and reimagine before returning in September.
My hope is that I can continue to meet this season with spirit, wisdom, grace, and courage. And I hope the same for you. May we trust that even when we cannot yet see what is taking shape, something meaningful is quietly unfolding within us.
As this Full Moon shines its light upon your own life, may you allow yourself to release what has become too heavy to carry, honor what has shaped you, and make space for what is ready to emerge.
Until we meet again beneath the September New Moon in Virgo, may you walk gently, rest often, trust your inner wisdom, and remember that even in seasons of profound transformation, you are never walking alone.
With love and moonlight,
Jennifer 💫💖💫
Micro Mindfulness Practice: A Full Moon Pause 🌕
Find a comfortable place to sit, either indoors or outside beneath the evening sky if you are able.
Allow your eyes to soften or gently close.
Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose... and exhale completely through your mouth.
Again... inhale slowly... and exhale, releasing any tension you’re carrying.
Imagine your body as a sacred vessel. Notice what it is holding today without trying to change anything. Simply observe.
Now ask yourself quietly: What feels too heavy to continue carrying?
Pause.
Then ask: What quiet strength is already growing within me?
Take one more slow breath and imagine the light of the Full Moon filling every cell of your being with steadiness, clarity, and compassion.
When you’re ready, gently open your eyes and carry that light with you into the rest of your day.
